2-8 Peri Appt
Today was my peri appt....the appointment to find out how well Dot is growing! I also had a NST and a meeting with the gestational diabetes lady.
My blood pressure was great 110/47 so at least that is not a concern this pregnancy. Dots heart rate is good, the NST went well besides her not wanting to stay on the monitor lol. Now onto the fun stuff....
Remember how I said I knew after my cleaning that Dot was lower but I couldn't tell what position she was in? Well I went in to my appt still lost on what position she was in!
The Ultrasound tech started out lower right where she couldn't see much I said she's been transverse & way up here but I know she's moved so she went up & sure enough her head is still on the higher right but lower then her rear end is down on my left side with her feet back up to her head (her feet were right at eye level lol) we couldn't get a decent pic of her so bear with me I tried to label everything...

We got a pretty good look at her face straight on but when she went to take the picture of course she decided to be shy & close her hands & feet so we couldn't snap a shot of it! But I will say my baby has some fat cheeks! Her one arm we could see clearly, her hand in a fist so she snapped a pic of it...

Then she left & the peri came in. It was a new Peri this time, one that was very nice! We went over my blood sugars & I told her about the problems with the glyburide & she was really supportive about me going off the pills, but would like me to get on insulin right away since my sugars are high & they are affecting Dot's growth & her fluid. She took time to make sure she was still a girl ;) & was laughing at her feet up in her face. She said that I really need to be going in for non-stress tests twice a week now instead of once since GD & the SUA can both cause still-birth. Then she went over the measurments with me....

Yes that's right my baby girl is growing perfectly! A little too well ;) She weighs in at a whopping 6lbs 1 oz! The Peri said wow with SUA we usually have the baby growing smaller, guess the GD has made up for that! Since I had a pretty good appt if you have read this go claim an extra entry into all the giveaways you've entered by saying you spotted Dot.
Her legs are so long measuring 38 weeks! She said they don't truly worry about growth until they get above the 90th% Dot is in the 76th%
This is her fluid level it was 12.6 at my last growth ultrasound & the last 2 NSTs it was 13.5 or so, now as you can see it's 16. 7 which is still in the normal AFI range (8-18) but she said they want to watch it closely.
With all that said & all of the complications as well as the risk of still-birth she said to schedule an amnio for in 3 weeks then if her lungs are good we can do the c-sec. I did start on insulin so hopefully that will go over ok & I scheduled the amnio for Feb 26th & I will talk to my OB on my appt Thursday about it all. I also have another NST on Thursday. My dad's bday is Feb 28th he's been hoping I would have her on his birthday....looks like he may just get his wish!

Aww. Good luck on the amnio!
I am so happy that everything is looking good, that you had a nicer peri and you had a good laugh with her foot by her face. My OB's partner always made me feel horrible about being over weight - of course she was a skinny stick :D
Glad things are looking good for Dot. I will be praying for you. My sons birthday is February 29th, but we celebrate the 28th. Great day to have a baby.
yay for lots of good news AND a nice peri!
It is good that she is doing so well. And I cannot wait to see her sweet little face. :)
I love the hearing the words of reassurance YES YOU ARE STILL HAVING A GIRL. LOL good she's got some chubby cheeks. 6 lbs. is great for right now. I hope that this apt let you see how good Dot is doing and helps you rest as you get excited to welcome lil' Dot. I still like the name Dot. :) AHHH maybe a Feb. girl. :) Keep us posted.
110/47? That diastolic number seems a bit low...should be like 110/70 (which happens to be a perfect BP). Anyhoo, yay for a great appt!
Hooray for good news!! Here's hoping it keeps on this way. Really hope the insulin works out for you!
Good to hear things are going okay! Fun update photos! :)
love to hear that Dot is doing well! So glad! Hopefully the insulin works better for you so you aren't so sick and can enjoy the last few weeks of your pregnancy!
I am so happy to read the good news so far. My thoughts are with you and Dot that the insulin does the trick and you feel great. Go Dot, great growth. I hope you are talking to your little girl and prepping her for her big debut!
OH how exciting! I just joined your blog and am gonna have to get all caught up. I have 6 kids, but three are grown. Big families are FUN! I even miss the pregnancy stuff, even though my youngest is 10.I can live vicariously now through YOU,...well, for a few more weeks at least.haha.
Your kids are cutie pies!
I can't imagine how uncomfortable it must be to have her transverse. I'm really surprised they're waiting another 3 weeks to do an amnio. She sounds healthy. Plenty of babies are born as early as 35 weeks (including my oldest) and are perfectly fine. I hope she flips for you soon!
I'm so glad you labeled the pictures because I can never distinguish anything on there! :o) Glad everything is going better and they were supportive of your decision to go off the pills!
I did NST's every other day with my last pregnancy and every 2 days with a previous do to GDM (gestational diabetes) I loved them since I got to see my little ones more often than most! I'm glad Dot is doing great! I wish I didn't have to take insulin shots for half of each pregnancy but, wihtout them my fluid levels would have been astronomical! they were really high to begin with) In fact, they were so high with DD that she was able to remain transverse throught the entire last few months, turned at last minute and during labor was able to go from a station -1 back to transverse! Crazy right!? I ended up with a c-section because she was all over the place!
You are getting so close!!! I hope you get to do the 28th for you dad.
Glad to hear Dot's doing well! Cannot believe she's almost here!
3 Weeks is SOOO Close! Thank goodness you labeled the pictures because I could hardly make out my baby lol. Feb 28th sounds like a good day to have her! My Sister was the 29th of Feb, my Mom HATES that she was born on the leap year but depending on how we feel we celebrate it on the 28th or March 1st.
I love your u/s pictures, I don't think I ever get tired of looking at baby u/s pictures. I am glad you had good news and I hope you will continue on the positive road. Good luck with the amino!!
Glad to hear Dot is doing well and growing good!
Also glad to hear you have a new, nicer Peri!
sounds like things are going good I wish you luck on your amnio

Beautiful pictures! Looks like she's doing well. We'll be praying for you to stay healthy & have a safe delivery. (Glad it looks like she's hanging around for awhile too; the predicted date of the 13th would be too soon!)
So glad Dot is doing good! Try and rest a little bit!
So glad everything is looking up - its amazing what things they can find out these days.
Isn't it amazing to see their little faces? I looked forward to each of my ultrasounds...it was like waiting for Christmas morning as a little girl!
